Technical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Assistant Manager on behalf of our client, a Pittsburgh based engineering consultant.  The Quality Assurance Assistant Manager's responsibilities include: developing and implementing quality assurance policies, performing audits, identifying production, process, or service issues, and presenting solutions.
Scope Of Position:
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Prepare, plan, and perform internal and external audits, surveillances, and assessments of company projects, suppliers, subcontractors
  • Elaborate, recommend, and oversee improvement and corrective actions
  • Support external providers conducting on-site audits
  • Review engineering documentation to verify compliance with QA requirements
  • Provide oversight of laboratory quality assurance activities such as testing and calibration
  • Document and report on results of quality activities
  • Interpret and comply with quality assurance standards
  • Oversee the company's training and qualification program
  • Oversee the implementation and ensure efficiency of quality assurance program
  • Analyze customer grievances and other non-compliance issues
  • Gather and organize statistical quality data
  • Inspect data to detect areas for improvement
  • This position will require occasional travel (national and international)

Job Requirements


  • Associate degree in a technical field (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
  • Five (5) + years of experience in Nuclear Quality Assurance field (experience in auditing or surveillances / oversight preferred)
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience and knowledge of requirements such as: 10CFR50 Appendix B, NQA-1, 10CFR21, 10CFR830, DOE O 414.1D, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ANSI N45.2 and the daughter standards, Six Sigma
  • Experience in the related industry or with related products
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Windows is required
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Team attitude
  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual government security clearance requirements in some contracts
  • Preferred ASQ certification or ANSI/ASME NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification
