Technical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking a Buyer on behalf of our client, an Ohio based manufacturer. The Buyer will communicate between outside vendors and the client's manufacturing, engineering, and accounting departments to obtain quotes and create purchase orders for maintenance and capital projects. Our client's orders are part of a custom engineered solution for our customers and are not part of an inventory management program.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain quotes, create purchase orders, provide purchase orders to vendors
- Purchase parts, materials and services for spare, repair, field service, automation and capital projects
- File all purchasing documents electronically, including POs, acknowledgements, reports, email correspondence
- Communicate with vendors regarding status of orders
- Communicate with manufacturing, sales, engineering and accounting departments
- Complete all purchasing requirements for a job within a specified time frame
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Knowledge and/or experience buying in a manufacturing setting
- Ability to read blueprints
- Experience with welded and machined components a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and MRP software; Great Plains software a plus
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
