Technical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking a Product Manager - Filter Systems on behalf of our client, a Pittsburgh area manufacturer. It is the responsibility of the Product Manager - Filter Systems to position the Company as a leader in the sector through innovative sales programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Increases sales and maintains target gross profit margins.
- Increases our client's visibility and enhances its image.
- Establishes and maintains competitive databases including, but not limited to, company profiles, products, pricing market share and discount structures.
- Develops a complete understanding of the filter systems/fluid conditioning marketplace, its competitors, and the associated products and pricing.
- Assist in development of product literature and operation manuals, product launches, and product sales efforts.
- Promotes, grows and trains the distributors and direct customer base on the products by creating the tools to accomplish this task.
- Develops new product ideas and presents the justification to the Company Management.
- Assist Group Product Manager in developing product sales forecasts using regional manager's input.
- Analyzes and supplies market data to Company.
- Manages the appropriate distribution channels that gives the Company access to the Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) market and the Original Equipment Manufacturing Market (OEM).
- Supports our existing relationships with our traditional distributors and the Regional Sales Managers and Direct Market Sales Managers.
- Identifies new channels for various products and product lines.
- Works in concert with Company personnel with related negotiation and supply of contracts.
- Develops and implements the necessary advertising and promotional programs needed to accomplish sales goals.
- Supports, recommends, guides, directs and/or implements strategies to meet the sales objectives set by the President.
- Manage the customers' expectations when quoting specialty items & systems. Make contacts with customers and suppliers, such as international contacts before issuing quotes
- Traveling (including driving) is required. Overnight travel - 25% travel can be expected.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, Business or Engineering is preferred. Mechanical Engineering degreed candidate is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in required.
- Experience in the fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of ERP software experience; SAP is a plus.
- Two + years' experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Valid driver's license.
Other Requirements:
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, presentation skills.
- Frequent travel required.
