Technical Solutions Inc. is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer, on behalf of our client, an Engineering consultant based in the Pittsburgh, PA area.
Job Purpose: Perform advanced electrical system design work and manage projects as Lead Electrical Engineer; has fiscal and schedule responsibilities. Provide design, calculations, and other activities related to electrical engineering. Mid-level position for a degreed engineer working under the supervision of an Engineer V-VII, or department manager.
Essential Duties:
- Mid to senior level position for a degreed engineer working under limited supervision of the Department Manager.
- Perform assignments independently using professional knowledge and abilities in support of a project team.
- Determine tasks and personnel required to perform project electrical scope of work. Manage project schedule for this work.
- Knowledge of medium voltage equipment and distributions.
- Use of Deltek Project Software. Performance of calculations for power requirements and equipment sizing.
- Prepare specifications and technical reports requiring minimal review.
- Support and direct designers.
- Perform lead engineer functions.
- Travel to job sites as required to perform field duties
Job Requirements
Education/Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- P.E. Certification strongly preferred
Experience and Skill Requirements:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the engineering field. Years of experience does not guarantee promotion to higher level. Engineering capabilities will dictate engineering level category.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Working knowledge of NEC and other industry standards.
- Electrical Equipment and Wiring Design.
- Working knowledge of ETAP.
